AIA Number 4 mark IV SMLE Rifle

Australian International Arms' No.4 mk.IV rifle blends the best features of the SMLE (Short Magazine Lee Enfield) rifles from which it is a direct descendant with the latest technological advancements in engineering and manufacturing techniques. The result is an accurate, rugged, and reliable rifle built to withstand the higher pressures generated by modern 7.62mm NATO ball ammunition - yet this unique rifle is equipped with the fastest cycling military type bolt action around and fitted with a hand-rubbed oil-finished solid teak stock!

The Aussie No.4 mk.IV: the evolution of an enduring classic

The Lee Enfield hardly needs an introduction, these rifles having served and defended our country faithfully for close to fifty years. Proven in battle serving dozens of nations through two world wars and capturing many military and civilian marksmanship and rapid fire records some of which still stand today. From the trenches of WWI to the African desert and the beaches of Normandy, from the Boer war through the jungles of Burma to the close of the Korean conflict the legendary Lee Enfield has left its indelible mark in the annals of history. Now, thanks to Australian International Arms, new life has been breathed into the venerable design.

Traditional craftsmanship meets modern engineering

AIA rifles incorporate a long list of improvements over the original SMLE design (click here for detailed descriptions and photos) while preserving the peerless balance and lightning quick handling which made the Lee Enfield famous. Features such as free-floated chrome-lined barrel with target crown come standard on the No.4 mk.IV - features other manufacturers charge extra for if they're available at all!

The AIA No.4 mk.IV has a non-glare parkerized finish and comes fitted with a 'full military' style furniture made from solid teak! The barrel bands are the early hinged type, which are much easier to remove and replace than the 'tension' type, making the No.4 mk.IV easy to disassemble. Every stock is hand fitted and topped with a hand-rubbed tru-oil(tm) finish. The result is a rifle that is every bit as eye-appealing as it is accurate: truly a modern military classic!
