Homemakers

The Olde Forge needs homemakers to do general housecleaning for seniors in Ottawa's west end.

Applicants must speak fluent English, offer three references and provide a police check or be willing to have a police check completed.

Volunteer Drivers Needed

Provide transportation and / or escort for Seniors in our area to medical appts. or the Luncheon and Foot Care clinics at the Olde Forge.

Grocery Bus Volunteer Needed

The Olde Forge provides a bus service for seniors to buy groceries. The grocery bus volunteer escorts seniors on/off the bus and helps provide a safe and social environment during the bus ride and in-store assistance. The grocery bus runs every Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and leaves from The Redwoods Retirement Residence (2604 Draper Ave). Friendly Visiting

The Friendly Visiting Program is a support program that matches a volunteer with a senior on a one to one basis to visit seniors living alone in the community or who are feeling lonely and isolated. The visits are meant to be regular and may include enjoying activities outside the home.
