Well, we have had Aston (formerly known as Marcus) for 2 weeks now, and we could not be happier!  He is the sweetest, most outgoing puppy.  He greets everyone who comes to the door with a tail wag and a kiss, and loves to play with his big fur sister, Abby. 

He is doing great with his house-training due to his love of treats and anything delicious, and has even learned to sit politely when we attach or remove his leash.  He absolutely loves beefhide chews and has become very good at hiding them and asking for new ones, only to be caught with 2 five minutes later! 

His favorite place in the house in under the coffee table, and no one has had the heart to tell him he won't fit under there for long!  The day he figured out the stairs, he simply ran up and down them for twenty minutes straight because he thought it was so much fun!  He has completely won us over and we couldn't be happier to have him in our family.

Update March ’11 …

Aston has just gotten back from his first trip to the family cottage this weekend, which he absolutely loved.  He got to meet a whole bunch of people, including a few kids, and the family cats.  He was a perfect gentleman about it all.  He never jumped up on the kids once, and was only politely curious about the cats.  He was loved by all and they cannot wait for him to come back in the summer!

His housetraining is pretty much complete, he never makes a mess as long as his family keeps to his schedule.  He no longer needs a crate at night and gets to sleep with Abby on the floor instead, where he aspires to take up more space than seems possible for such a small puppy.

Aston had his first trip to the dog park yesterday and loved it!  Once he discovered we had treats in our pockets, he never wandered far from our sides.  That is, unless someone else walked by.  Aston is a special puppy in that he goes to the park, not for the new dogs, but for the new people!  The more people who pet him, the happier he was!

Aston has been a great addition to our family and we will keep you updated on all of our adventures that we enjoy together!
