I'm
sending an update on our littlest angel - 'Darcy' - whom we adopted in
November (his original name was Neilie). Darcy has brought so
much joy into our lives right from the moment that we met him and
looked into those sweet eyes (one blue and one brown). Typical of the
Shih Tzu breed, Darcy likes to spend every waking minute with his
people and his cat brothers and sisters. Our 18-year-old cat, Jack,
is still trying to teach Darcy that he is too old to let him ride
around on his back as he does with our younger cat, Stoffie. Darcy
loves his kitty siblings and constantly lays his prized rubber chicken
toy at their feet as a gift.
Playing in the snow, galloping around with the cats, watching the
crows and blue jays come for peanuts every morning are on the top of
his list of favourite things to do. Darcy was housetrained within
less than a week and is now mastering climbing up and down the large
flight of stairs in our home. Darcy sleeps through the night in his
crate by our bed and is ready for cuddles and snuggles as soon as the
alarm goes off in the morning. He has a big appetite and looks
forward to mealtimes or evenings when he can have a puppy chew while
we watch t.v.. Our floors are cleaner than they have ever been since
we dare not leave anything lying around as Darcy will steal it and try
to eat it (shoes, socks, hats - all fair game)!
We
would like to thank the SPCA of
Western Québec
so much for helping to bring this wonderful young man into our lives.
He is loving, smart and very comical - we can't imagine life without
him!
p.s.
Darcy's nickname is 'the Ewok' given his resemblance to the character
from "StarWars"!

Update October '12
It is hard to believe that nearly a whole year has passed since we
adopted our darling "Mr. Darcy" from the SPCA of Western Québec! In
September, Darcy celebrated his first birthday in style with a
'birthday bash' complete with doggy ice-cream!
Darcy says that his best birthday present was the arrival this
September of his little sister Teagan who is also a Shih Tzu. Teagan
is now 12 weeks old and keeps Darcy on his toes as he shows her how to
climb stairs, fetch a ball, shake a paw and most importantly, chase
the family kitties (Jack, Guinevere and Cinder).
(Baby sister Teagan at 8 weeks of age)
Now that it is almost Halloween, Darcy and Teagan have been consulting
each other on costumes and have decided that Teagan will be a bee and
Darcy will be a pumpkin (since his nickname is "Pumpkin Pie").
All in all, "life couldn't be better!" (quote by Darcy).
Fun-filled days with Teagan and his kitty brother and sisters ensure a
good night's sleep when the sun goes down and the sweetest of doggy
dreams!

I
wanted to send an update on our darling Shih Tzu, Darcy, who just
turned four years old this past Monday (Sept 7th). It is hard to
believe that four years have passed so quickly! Darcy continues to be
the light of our lives and he keeps us entertained on a daily basis
with his hilarious little ways. We have never met a dog who treasures
his toys the way Darcy does and he has a huge vocabulary so can
quickly go and retrieve almost any toy we ask him to get from his
(very large) toy box. Huge thanks once again to the SPCA of
Western Quebec
for bringing this wonderful little boy into our lives! I've attached
a picture of Darcy at his recent birthday party.

I'm sending an update on our wonderful Shih Tzu "Darcy" whom we
adopted from the SPCA of Western Québec in the fall of 2011. Darcy is
an amazing boy who continues to bring so much joy into our lives. He
LOVES toys and has an extensive collection and a huge vocabulary. He
can literally go and retrieve any toy you ask him to find (by name)
from his toy-box. He is a little clown who loves to tease and cuddle
with our two senior cats, Cinder and Guinevere.
In 2014 we adopted a little brother for Darcy (another Shih Tzu) whom
we named Séamus. The "boys" as they are known, are so devoted to
each other and make a great team as they greet neighbours and other
furry friends on our walks around the neighbourhood. The boys love to
dress up for special occasions and this picture shows them in their
2015 Christmas outfits. We are forever (or is that 'fur-ever')
grateful to the SPCA of Western Québec for bringing Darcy into our
lives.
