Darwin

I adopted Junior (I've since changed his name to Darwin) in early August from the SPCA.  I've attached some pictures of Darwin.  I love him!  He received a clean bill of health from the vet yesterday.  He has not met my other cat yet, however, they have played a bit of "footsy" under the door and there was no sign of any aggression from either of them.

So far, he is one of the sweetest cats ever and I have no doubt that he and my other cat will be friends in no time.  Thank you for looking after him so well and thank you for all the work you do for the animals.  I will send you further updates as I progress with his further integration into our family.

Thank you once again.

Update August 14

Yesterday, I decided to introduce Darwin to my cat, Kes.  I was prepared to take it very slowly, however, I'm extremely pleased to report that Darwin and my cat, Kes, are getting along as if they had known each other for years!  In fact, this morning Darwin was actually grooming Kes, and she was letting him.  It's wonderful to see.

I will still exercise some caution as it is still very new territory for Darwin, but if these first two days are any indication, they will be great (or even better) buddies in no time!  So far as well, Darwin has been very good about using his scratching post.  He is very well-behaved.

Again, thanks so much for Darwin.

Update August 25

I did say in my last e-mail that I was still exercising some caution as to Darwin's and Kes' time together.  Well, that caution is no longer necessary!  They get along famously!  They have even decided to take over my favourite lazy boy chair, and use it for their afternoon naps (picture attached).

Darwin, being quite a bit younger, is a little more energetic and playful, but Kes is so pleased to have him provide her with some kitten-like antics and entertainment.  It is so wonderful to watch ..... sometimes (more often than not) they make me laugh out loud!  Darwin fits right in and I love them both.

Thanks SPCA!
