Our family adopted a slightly chubby beagle in January 2008. He
goes by the name of Ellway and he turned 8 years old in January.
We have always wanted to send an update but it unfortunately slipped
our minds ...
The
first few months with our new companion were a bit rocky since he had
been in numerous shelters for 6 months and he was a little anxious
around us. But once he warmed up to us, he has been a wonderful
dog. He's good with other dogs, especially big ones, and he
enjoys playing with our 1 year old cat, Snowball. Considering
he's a beagle, he has strong hunting instincts, especially when he
sees raccoons, rabbits, stray cats and, well, the mailman. The
whole neighbourhood has met him through his loud, endless howls and
he's very friendly towards strangers, especially when we take him for
walks.
As much as he loves taking walks, he is a very big fan of car rides,
even if it's a quick trip to the store. We bring him to Carleton
Place to visit our family and he loves running around the farm and
discovering new smells.
Ellway is a wonderful dog and we would like to thank the SPCA for
letting us adopt such a great companion. We're sorry for the
delay in the update, but we really hope you remember him and that you
all know how happy he is in a loving, forever home. Thank you
again for giving us such an amazing dog to make us laugh, run after,
play and care for everyday.
The Morris family and Ellway.
