I know it's only been a few days but I
wanted to write and thank you all for helping me find Maxine. I have
renamed her Estelle (which she has almost learned already with
treats). She is super happy.
I was a bit worried the first day because
she slept on the carpet for most of it but after a few walks and lots
of love she is really starting to adjust. She wags her tail when I
pet her and has learned to come up on the couch with me while I am
watching TV.
When I have a client here she lays on the
blanket I got for her on the floor. She loves her 3-4 walks/day
and is starting to eat a little more of her food today. She is still
wearing her cone while I am not in front of her but she lets me put it
on her without trying to run away or anything. At night she has slept
beside my bed on the floor.
Healthwise she seems to be doing okay with
the staples. I check them after
every walk as she likes to roll in the snow a bit and so far no
tearing. I did notice a tiny bit of what looked to be diluted blood
dripping off of her after a walk but I think it was probably just snow
melted onto the wound as it hasn't done it since.
So far I have LOVED having her here and she seems to love being here.
She is one of the most relaxed dogs I have ever met.
Attached are two photos of her from yesterday. Today she is all
smiles with a wagging tail :) I think after a few weeks she will be
even more adjusted.
