We
adopted Fin (Sinclair was his SPCA name), on May 26th. From the
moment he happily jumped into our car to join our other dog Hutch, he
became a part of our family as if he has always been with us.
Fin adapted very well to his new home although he was disappointed for
awhile that we didn't scrape our plates into his food bowl after
meals! I've
never seen a dog get so excited about doing dishes!
Now that he gets regular walks and playtime ... and is fed a balanced,
dog-healthy diet, Fin has more energy and has lost a few of his extra
pounds (recommended by the vet).
He has also learned how to get in and out of a small boat and how to
get a drink of water from a lake. He is still unsure about
wading or swimming and thinks our other dog is a bit crazy for jumping
in the water.
It took him awhile to adjust to permitted, off-leash fun at the lake
and at first he would beg to go back into the cottage after just a few
short stick chasings. After a few visits, and with his growing
energy level, Fin has learned to love running around the cottage
property and playing games with his new brother Hutch.
Fin is great in the car - jumps in and makes himself cozy then falls
asleep. He also is very polite and waits patiently for
permission to get out of the car when we arrive at our destination ...
even if the hatch is open and Hutch (bad dog) jumps out.
At 60 pounds we didn't think we were getting a lapdog ... but it turns
out Fin is a BIG snuggler and he will worm his way onto your lap for
cuddles and hugs.
Thank you for helping us find such a great dog!
