Hello from George!
It is hard to believe that George has been with us for six months!!
We kept meaning to write to give you an update but the time kept
flying by.
The night we brought George home, we weren't sure how he would settle
into his new home. No one knew anything about his history and we
weren't even sure if he knew how to climb stairs. Well, from the
moment he crossed the threshold it was like he had been here forever.
He took a quick tour around the main floor, hopped up on the couch,
put his head on the pillow and went to sleep. Since the day he
arrived, he has become an integral part of our family. We love
George with all of our hearts.
For the ladies who were at the office the day I came by and found George,
it must not have been easy to watch me go through the adoption
process. My husband and I had recently lost our beloved cocker
spaniel Calvin and I couldn't stop crying thinking of Calvin while I
was at the office looking for a new little family member.
Everyone was very kind and understanding. I had almost left when
I spotted George as I went back to my car. There was something
about the way he stared at me that made me turn around and go back to
ask to meet him. It was love at first sight. My husband
came out to meet little George despite the fact that his heart wasn't
ready to let in a new little dog. George just would not be
denied and we decided that George was the right one for us and took
him home.
Fast
forward six months, George has settled in nicely to our house and
brings lots of joy to our lives. He keeps me company in my home
office while I work all day and pulls me out for little breaks.
In the mornings before Terry leaves for work, he cuddles in beside
Terry on the couch while he surfs on the laptop (you can tell how
helpful he is from the picture...). George is a bit of a
pampered pooch who likes pillows better than the floor. He has a
whole team of toys who follow him around the house. I have
attached a picture of his little Teddy bear. He often sleeps
with the bear tucked in under his neck or paws.
George
has his own vet, hair groomer and many admirers on the street who keep
telling us to go away so they can look after him. He is a
beloved dog nephew and grand dog to the rest of our extended family.
Thanks very much to the SPCA of Western Quebec for helping us find
George!
