          I just wanted to
give you a quick update on Guinness, formerly known as Ajax.  My
husband & I adopted Guinness on Saturday, January 12th, 2008 after
having seen his picture on Petfinder.com.  Since we already had a Toy
Poodle and a Miniature Poodle in our family, it wasn’t hard to
convince ourselves to adopt a wee poodle pup in need of a good home.

          A week has passed
since we brought Guinness home, and he has undergone quite a
personality change!  The quiet, meek puppy we met at the shelter
has turned into a bouncy bundle of energy & mischief!  Guinness loves
to play with toys of all kinds, but will also entertain himself with
whatever he can find or reach, including towels off the rack, candle
pillars off the coffee table, etc. … so needless to say we have been
crating him for his own safety when we leave the house.

          Considering that
Guinness had lived in kennel and had no previous housebreaking
training, he has had very few accidents in the house.  He still is a
bit shy around us but is growing more confident each day.  Once
he settles in a bit more we are going to get him started in obedience
classes, which should help build his confidence.  Guinness enjoys his
new canine and feline siblings though I think they are a bit
overwhelmed by his energy!  He has transitioned to his new diet
without incident, and is enjoying many yummy new things, like sweet
          potato chews.

          I have included a
few pictures of Guinness for you in his new home.  Because he is
almost always in motion, the only pictures we can get of him are when
he decides to settle down for a nap!
