Billy has been renamed Henry and he's responding to it quite well. We know he had four years of "Billy", so we weren't sure how it would go, but he took to it immediately - the sound of our voice plus the fact that the endings of both names are the same.
He's settling in so nicely. We're trying to match all the love he got at the Shelter, which means lots and lots of walks and affection. He seems to carry a celebrity status with him wherever he goes - everyone wants to meet him and he loves it. Our cat was suspicious at first, but is now back to his old self. Given Henry's amazing disposition, we are sure they will soon become forever friends.
He is so well-behaved - he only comes up on the couch when invited, and he has perfect leash manners. He loves to be brushed, and he loves his bones and plush toys. He is a bit possessive of his bones, so we will be working on that with him. He is gentle with other dogs, but is happiest when with people.
I've attached some pictures of Henry during his first week with us. We will be sure to keep you posted. We feel like we've won the doggy lottery. Thank you SPCAWQ for bringing him to us, and for all that you do for the animals. Taylor and Carl
