On
March 15, we decided to adopt a dog after my brother Bill died and
donations in his memory were sent to the Aylmer SPCA. Bill was a long-time animal lover and it only seemed fitting that we would adopt a dog
in his memory.
We
chose Hope, a lovely, gentle Husky/Lab mix who arrived in our
home very timid and shy around people. Hope had never lived in a
house before, yet she adjusted with no issues whatsoever.
Over
the last few months, we have had so much fun witnessing what we
think are many firsts for Hope. First terrified of the car, she now
enjoys car rides to the cottage, swimming, going for boat rides and
long walks with us.
Although still shy around people, she is certainly developing trust
and confidence as she settles into life with us. Always affectionate,
gentle and eager to please, she is a natural fit for us.
Thank
you for taking good care of Hope until we found her. I encourage
anyone thinking of getting a dog to consider a rescue dog. It has
been an incredibly meaningful and rewarding experience for us.
Warm regards from Hope, Cindy and Gord
