Hello
to everyone at the shelter!
It has
been a little over a month since we adopted Jake, and we thought we
would give you an update on how he is doing. The first couple of
days he gave us a bit of a scare when he seemed to be having problems
with his back legs. I’m happy to report that he is doing much better
now; we think maybe he just wasn’t used to going up and down so many
stairs!
Jake
is adjusting wonderfully to his new house. As you will see from the
pictures he hasn’t hesitated at all to make himself feel at home!
Despite his size, Jake seems to think he is a cat and loves to sit on
laps and sprawl himself out across anyone that gives him the chance.
We
cannot say enough great things about this handsome guy! Jake is very
quick to learn. As soon as you pull out a treat he sits, gives a
high-five and lays down all before you even have a chance to do the
commands. He’s even come up with a new trick of his own: he prances
up with his bowls in his mouth when thirsty or when dinner time rolls
around.
He
absolutely loves to be in and around the water, he never misses a
puddle and has tried to jump in the running shower with us more than
once; we know he will be a blast once summer comes around!
Although he is still very much a big puppy and is working on his
manners, we know he will do great once he starts his first obedience
class in a few weeks.
Jake
has so much to give and has brought so much joy to our lives. It
breaks our heart to think how close he was to being euthanized in his
previous shelter. Thank you so much to all the wonderful staff at the
SPCA of Western Quebec for all that you do!
Hopefully we will be in soon for a visit, and maybe to look for
another addition to the family.
Thanks
again,
Sarah,
Curtis and Jake
