I'm sure with so many animals coming in and out of the rescue, you may
or may not remember Jewel who was with you for three days ... but as
requested from the staff at SPCA (or was it the foster mom?) I wanted
to quickly update you with Jewel's story.
Jewel was 110 lbs when she first came home. She was friendly from the
start, but very cowardly as well. The cat scared her off a few times
even though her eyes were begging for some attention from the cat. She
would just want to please and not upset anyone. She was only somewhat
interested in playing and acting "dog-like".
Now, four months later, she lost a quarter of her body weight and is
down to 80 lbs! She has confidence to put the cat in her place when
needed and even showed a German Shepherd that she had enough of his
taunting. She is playful and ridiculously friendly and has many
friends in the neighbourhood. She really came out of her shell!! She's
now an important part of the family and she knows it.
Thank you for pairing us up with Jewel and Merry Christmas!
