We thought it was about time to give you an update on Kylie (we
changed her name from Kelly), whom we adopted on September 30th.
Kylie is a wonderful, calm and gentle puppy. She is loving her new
home and her new home loves her. She is doing fabulously at her
obedience classes, she is really smart and picks things up quickly.
She has really grown and at 4 1/2 mos. is almost
40 lbs and is very healthy.
She is almost near the end of her teething, only one canine left to
come out and has really been good about not chewing up the house,
shoes etc. She does love to carry mittens around, but we keep a
close eye on her and she has not managed to do any damage.
Tennis balls, however, don’t last too long once she has found them.
She is a great walker, loves other dogs and all people. We discovered
a fenced in dog park close to our house and use it for socialization
with other dogs or when no one is there to practice playing off leash.
She has met many new friends and loves to play tag and wrestle. She
made her first visit to Bruce Pit this weekend and was happily
exhausted by the end of the walk.
People
often stop us in the street to admire Kylie’s sweet energy and it is
wonderful to hear how many people have had only great things to say
about your shelter. People who have adopted pets from your shelter or
who know of others who have all say just how great you are at taking
care of those for whom you are finding homes.
We are looking forward to doing some advanced obedience or agility
classes in the near future with Kylie, but for now we will be happy
when she realizes that although she can reach the counter top it
doesn’t mean she should!
Thank you so much for all the wonderful work you do.
