It is hard to believe Larry has been with us almost a year now. Larry
is doing wonderful. It took him a few months to settle in, and we
took him to some one-on-one training, but he is now a wonderful part
of our family. He and Fred (our other dog) enjoy their walks together
and especially their daily off-leash time. I love having a running
partner - Larry is a fabulous runner (Fred would never go running with
me in the morning) and we go 8 or 10k a day everyday.
We have dog-sat a bunch of
friends'/relatives' dogs over the past year and Larry always welcomes
them in. For the past 5 months or so he has been out of his crate at
night. He finds our bed too crowded, but sleeps right next to the bed
every night. And he likes to put his giant head in your lap for
attention. He also likes hanging out in the backyard, which works
great with our 3 young boys. He really loves playing fetch, but only
with his special “squeaky” toys.
We also got Fred from the SPCA
of Western Quebec (he was a puppy - it was over 5 years ago now).
We are so happy to have found you and have been able to find both
Larry and Fred to add to our family. I have included some pictures of
Larry and Fred in their Halloween costumes and then enjoying the
outside.
Update May ’11 …
Larry continues to do well and thrive in our active home. He loves
going for off leash walks in the forest or hiking in Gatineau. He is
not as keen on swimming as his "brother" Fred, but he will jump in and
do a few strokes to cool off.
Since October he has been attending Doggie Daycare once a week to get
in some playtime. He has made a number of doggie buddies and the
staff there love him. They affectionately call him the "Gentle Giant"
because he is always so calm with the other dogs.
