Maggie
is a Scottish terrier and was adopted last year at age 7 in June 2007
after being rescued from a puppy mill. Imagine living your entire
life in a cage. Needless to say Maggie did not respond to any
commands, she did not understand what I was saying - from cookie, to
come outside, just two little black eyes staring back wondering what I
was saying. She was shy and scared of sounds, grass, stairs, even of
me. I decided then to treat her as a puppy so that her learning
process would be gradual.
We
worked hard at learning to go up and down the stairs and getting to
know each other. That was a great achievement for her.
The
whole neighbourhood loves her. She reacts to squirrels but not to
cats. With Maggie every new thing she does is a gift. She lets me
brush her teeth, lets me groom her and she never retaliates.
Maggie
made me lose 30 pounds in one year from walking her twice a day.
In short, I am good to her but most important she is good to me.
Thanks
to the staff at the centre for caring for these little friends in
need. We wish you the best.

Sadly, Maggie has passed away and is now remembered
on our Rainbow Bridge page.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Maggie's family.
