Our oldest adopted dog from your shelter died today at 5:45 a.m. He
was about 15 years old or more. An awesome dog. His name was Mac when
we adopted him from you approximately 10 or so years ago, maybe 12
years, can't remember. We called him Maxi Blue. I'll add a picture. I
spoke by email to somebody from your place a few years ago about him,
          just touching base about him.

He is the 2nd dog of greyhound mix that we adopted from you. We've had
the pleasure of the unconditional love of being parents of an adopted
dog from you for the last approximate 20 years. The 1st dog was a
female greyhound mix that your shelter named Floppy. If there's
anybody at your place who has been there 15-20 years they may remember
her. We called her Dingo because she resembled a wild desert dog with
her brindle colors of black/goldish brown/white tips of the feet.
Dingo was scared of everybody and everything and wouldn't go on a
leash. However, when we met eyes at your shelter it was love at first
sight, I put the leash on and she followed me out and jumped in my car
no problem! Lol. Very good memories. Dingo died a few months before we
          came and adopted Max.

How strange was it to find another dog who looked so unique, of almost
the same breed mix - Dingo was greyhound/shep mix with brown eyes, Max
is greyhound/husky mix with the tell-tale piercing icy blue eyes
usually seen in a siberian husky. We came by the shelter that day out
of the blue on a trip from Otter Lake, Quebec to Ottawa, Ontario, by
way of Shawville to Aylmer. We popped in about 10-12 years ago and you
had almost an exact twin of the dog we had lost a few months prior. It
was love at first sight again! There was literally another man there
at the same time but who came into the shelter about 20 minutes after
us. He was enquiring about Max but we were already there and Max had
already chosen us to bring him home!

We just wanted to share this story with you, of our journeys with
Dingo and Max (or Floppy and Mac, names while at the shelter), and
share the news with you that Max left for the
          Rainbow Bridge this morning at
5:45, 24th of April 2015. Our current family of 4 dogs and 5 cats will
miss their canine brother as much as we will.

All the best to your shelter. I'm sure, almost positive, we will be in
to your shelter again one day in the probably distant future, to again
give a dog a chance to choose us as parents.
