We would like to, first of all, thank you for providing us with such a
lovely doggie, Maya (formerly Bea). The three of us (my husband
Roberto, Maya and I) are working very hard to get her to the point
where she'll be a fully trained and well balanced doggie. She's
a loving dog and a great
companion. She's a smart, fast learner and has adjusted to our
household quite well.
Here is a picture of our cute Maya, in a quiet time at home.
Thank you for your help and take care.
Update July '14
Maya here. I want to first of all thank you all for taking such good
care of me on my stay at the SPCA of WQ last March! I will never
forget you guys!! You're amazing!
My mom and dad have been too busy with me lately so I decided to email
my own update on my new life.
I have been doing great!! My new family adores me as much as I adore
them! We all feel we have been together forever! We enjoy long daily
walks together, I get plenty of exercise, fun time, toys and lots,
lots of love!!
We live in the Kanata area and I love it! It's the perfect area for me
because there are plenty of places around where we go for safe walks!
The neighbors now know me by my name. I'm still not too sure about
meeting other dogs when I'm on a leash, but we keep working at it.
Although we "follow the rules" we mainly focus on having fun and
exercise on our daily walks.
I go to "doggie play days" at a local doggie daycare almost weekly and
I'm becoming more outgoing thanks to that. They groom me and clip my
nails there too. Those guys at the daycare are fantastic! I still have
lots of work to do, but the most important of all is that I'm enjoying
myself and so are my parents!
I'm excited to see my profile on the HAPPY TAILS section of your
website!! I noticed my mom hasn't sent new pictures of me, so I'm
sending you some good ones and maybe you would kindly update my
profile with them, so that I can add some color to my page!!
Thank you all again and again ... for taking care of me and for
finding a great home for me to call my own!!
Lots of kisses!
Maya
Update
March '15
Maya is doing great! After almost a year she hasn't needed to see the
vet other than routine visits. She is healthy, playful, energetic and
loving little princess... She was flower girl in her aunt's wedding,
and celebrated her birthday last weekend with cake and treats! She
turned 5!! As spring comes, she will continue to go to the doggie
day-care at least twice a month, so that she can socialize with other
dogs her size. She's not the social butterfly we thought she would be,
but that's OK. Slowly but surely, Maya is turning into a city girl and
enjoying herself so much in the process. She's is living the good life
we promised you guys she would live. We love her to pieces and
appreciate so much that you let us adopt her almost a year ago!
Here
are some pictures of our beautiful "flower-girl".
