On
September 19, 2011 we adopted
Sydney
from you who hailed from Iqualuit. While reading her file I
noticed that her birthday is September 19, 2008, so she got a new
family for her birthday! Furthermore, we thought she was a
Yorkie but it turns out that she may be an Australian Terrier mix,
hence the name Sydney.
In
keeping with our family tradition, we renamed her using the letter
“M”. Sydney now goes by “Mila” and kept Sydney as her middle
name. Mila shares our home with Molly, her 3 ˝ year old Yorkie
mix sister, and Moby, her 11 year old cat brother.
When
we first saw Mila, her sweet little eyes gazing into ours, her calm
demeanour, and her sweetness assured us that she would fit right into
our home. That first night, she seemed scared and wary about
what was happening. She kept real close to us but you could see
the worry in her little eyes. Mila sniffed her way around the
house, ate, investigated her new siblings, her new home and her
backyard.
For
the first few days, Mila would bark, whine and howl when one of us
left the room. Now, a few weeks later, Mila is stronger and looks
better, she is a much happier dog, she’s confident, outgoing,
friendly, sweet, funny, alert, loves to cuddle, plays with Molly, is
an awesome walker, eats well and is an overall wonderful addition to
the family.
She
is definitely part of the pack and she knows it. We love her to bits
and thank you for saving this little angel for us. Here are a
few pictures of Mila including one from that first night and one after
her first visit to the grooming salon … isn’t she beautiful?!
We admire what you do and appreciate your love and devotion.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Dan, Linda, Mila, Molly and Moby
Update March '12 ...

Update September '12 ...
We celebrated Mila's 1 year anniversary with us on September 19, 2012,
and it happened to be her birthday too! She turned 3. She is an
amazingly sweet girl and we are so blessed to have her. She is
loved. She is a healthy, frisky, fun, sweet princess who
captures the hearts of everyone.
She loves her sister Molly and brother Moby (even though he can be a
crabby cat sometimes). The "girls" play together constantly and
have bonded since we brought Mila home. They share everything,
and sometimes fight for it, but you can tell they love each other.
We send our love,
Linda, Dan, Mila, Molly and Moby
