I hope all is well with the
animals and staff at the SPCA of Western Quebec. I just want
to give you an update on Molly whom I adopted in the middle of August,
2007. Right now she is sleeping beside me after her day in the park
with our other dog Scooter. Molly loves the wide open space at the
park where she can be free to play with the other dogs. She has
always been a wonderful dog, but now she has turned into a really
wonderful pet.
Molly has been
going to obedience classes where she's made new friends and has learnt
some new skills. She comes when called unless there is something
that smells better then me and walks well on a leash. Molly has
learnt to go up and down stairs, travels in the car with her seat belt
on, and gets along with Scooter and our cat Willow. She doesn't
seem to mind our frog Louie either, mind you they haven't seen each
other much.
Molly is
really enjoying living in a home where she can retire after breeding
so many puppies. She loves her breakfast so much it's like Christmas
morning for a four year old every day.
I took Molly on her
first canoe trip and she did really well in the boat. We didn't tip
as Molly fell asleep with her life jacket on.
Molly is also a
great hockey game dog. She either sleeps, chews on a chew stick, or
the odd bit of popcorn that falls to the floor as we cheer on the Sens.
Thanks so much for
saving Molly and looking after her until we met.
Update April '09 ...
Molly
is now 8 yrs. old and doing great. Molly and I both love the outdoors
so I included some pictures of her and I camping and snowshoeing.
Molly
and I are volunteers with the Ottawa Humane Society's Brightening
Lives programme. She is always eager to get there as she enjoys
visiting the people in the residences as well as the other dogs. She
keeps a close eye on the kitchen staff and will always be the first
one to clean up any cookie crumbs that fall on the floor.
Update March '11 ...
Molly
is doing fantastic. I love her tons and sometimes more on other
days. You know the kind when you have a wonderful dog, when she
becomes part of your life and you are so very happy. That kind.
She had a great time in all of the fresh snow we had. As soon as she
gets out the door, all she wants to do is run and play in it. We made
a snow angel together. Well, I made it and she was just the angel.
The kind with a real big halo.
Molly still follows me everywhere I go, can't wait to go for car
rides, and sleeps real hard whenever she lies down. I usually fall
asleep to her snoring at night as she sleeps at the end of the bed on
the floor.
Next Saturday she is going for a bath at Carol's dog groomers. She
goes there to get her nails done. They are still real long. I
guess that is what happens after 6 years of neglect.
She turned 10 just before Christmas. We celebrated with dog treats
and extra long walks. She loves to go to Conroy Pitt. I never worry
about her with other dogs. Even the crazy ones. They seem to calm
right down when they are around her.
