Rosie
is doing extremely well and is keeping herself active, taking
off-leash runs in the woods with us every morning (we have a secret
place in Ottawa), playing with Picnic and eating doggie versions of
beef bourguignon. They usually get white meat and fish recipes
but this is the holiday season after all!
She'll be getting her first full check-up this afternoon with Dr.
Beltran, our vet extraordinaire. We've been giving her Oculoheel
drops because her eyes tend to be red but we'll get that checked out
(along with her previous ailments and the usual elaborate bloodwork
from Dr. B).
Rosie
has amazing recall but we've signed up for basic obedience at Ottawa
canine school for both her and Picnic, starting Jan. 8. They are both
leash pullers so we'll work on that first! We'll also be having
a chat with an animal communicator to have a look at her abandonment
issues. She's ok staying home with the other pets when I go out
for errands but gets quite anxious when both René and I leave at the
same time with gym bags in our hands. On a final note, she's
learning to behave with our cats.
Here are a few pictures of the affectionate girl you saved.
Thanks again,
Régine & René
P.S. She takes a lot of room in bed!
A little follow-up: We've started basic obedience classes with Rosie
and Picnic. They are both doing great. Our girl is also
doing well with the cats. Her separation anxiety issues are
slowly fading away. The non-stop barking when we leave the house
seems to have diminished but we'll still get in touch with an animal
communicator to clear matters up.
Cheers,
Régine
Update January ’11 …
Just
wanted to let you know that Rosie’s bloodwork and stool sample results
came back and everything is PERFECT. Not just within range,
right in the middle all the way!
Here
are a couple of pictures of Rosie (and Picnic) enjoying the company of
furry friends.
I
asked our dog walker to introduce Rosie to them this week. She
did great and will have no problem adjusting to daily walks with
friends when I go back to work in April.
