My name is Tuk Toy aka Meiko -
don't ask me how I ended up at the shelter, I am still trying to
figure it out. I remember living where there was a lot of snow.
I seem to remember the name Iqaluit. Anyways, for some reason I
couldn't stay where I was. I had to take a trip on a plane to go to
the SPCA in Gatineau. They had room for me and felt that they
could help me find a new forever home.
The
people there were very nice and took good care of me; they kept me fed
and warm.
I met new
friends, some furry and some people. I had a couple of training
sessions with a man named Bobbi who was teaching me some manners.
Bobbi thought that my new home would find my new manners useful.
I saw
many friends come and go with their new family. I began to wonder if
my turn was next. I had been fixed and had all of my shots, I just
needed a home now. Finally when I began to wonder if my turn
would ever come, I was put on a leash and let out into the waiting
area to meet my prospective family.
My new
family thought I was pretty special, and they decided to take me
home. They gave me the new name of Tuktoyaktuk. I am so happy to
have found my new family, they love me. They sometimes call me King
Tuk Toy and I rather like that. I didn't know how I was going to fit
in because my new home had other furry friends. We all had to have a
bit of an adjustment period and I had to learn that the cats were not
just visitors but family members just like myself. Now I give the
cats lots of room because I know they can be a bit testy. My family
also has two dogs that are my sisters and we get along very well.
I am so
grateful to the SPCA of Western Quebec and everyone there for helping
me along the way.
Sincerely,
Tuk Toy
