We adopted Chance (we later named her Violet) on October 28, 2007. She is a wonderful, wonderful dog and we are so glad that she has come into our lives. Violet had been brought in to the shelter with another dog (Toutoune) because their Mom was sick and could not have them in the house for health reasons. Violet was only at the shelter for 2 days before we came along and saw how sweet, beautiful and good-natured she was. We had to have her right away. Our only regret was that we could not take her brother Toutoune as well but we later found out that Toutoune was adopted out shortly thereafter. Our experience at the shelter was great; we went to the SPCA Saturday morning and were able to take Violet home right away. All of the volunteers there are absolutely fantastic; so much so that I brought 10 girlfriends back last weekend to volunteer and take all of the shelter dogs out for a walk as a group activity (which I would highly recommend as it was very rewarding for all of us). We want to let Chance’s (Violet’s) previous owner know that she is well-loved and is in a good home where she will get lots of cuddles and walks at the Conroy Pit dog park.
