I adopted one of the pups the Citizen ran the story about nearly 13 years ago. When the paper did a follow up story a year later, they came to our farm and photographed Willie and he had his moment of fame in the paper.
Willie has been the perfect dog; no mistakes in the house, no chewing, never went hunting, no barking issues, great health until this past year. He is on meds for his arthritis but seems to be managing.
He has done good service in the community too by visiting shut-ins at a couple of retirement homes as well as patients in a local palliative care hospital. Everyone adores him and why wouldn't they?
