Dear Ms. Church,

Since receiving your letter of February 2nd and our subsequent telephone conversation, I have received the communications enclosed from the Umpire's office and from the Legal Services department of Human Resources Development.

My reply to Mr. Langsner of the Legal Services department of Human Resources Development is also enclosed, as is my letter of today's date to Marlene Catteral, M.P., giving my views on Mr. Langsner's letter. Mr. Langsner has got it all wrong.

We are not talking about altering the legislation to fit unique or individual situations here. We are talking about applying the law properly, which people involved in my case have not been doing and Mr. Langsner is the latest case in point. Kindly see to it that Mr. Langsner and others involved in my case do their work properly, and don't give me any more excuses for allowing obstructions to be put in my way for the purpose of preventing me from getting back to work. In Canada, you seem to be very good at that sort of thing and very little else, as far as I can see, and undoubtedly this one of the reasons why we still graduate 8 lawyers for every professional engineer from our universities ( the more mess that the poor-quality lawyers create, the more mess that has to cleared up by other lawyers) In Japan, they graduate 8 professional engineers for every lawyer from their universities - and we still wonder why the Japanese are doing better in their export markets than Canada.
