Here are a couple of pictures of two happy dogs, tired from chasing
and wrestling with each other -- Bouncy and her new best friend,
Goldie. Bouncy came home with me about
four weeks ago. And you might remember Goldie: she was
adopted from you folks exactly a year ago. We call Bouncy and
Goldie cousins because their owners are sisters. But also
because they are quite alike ... they’re smart, athletic, and they
LOVE their creature comforts, specifically a queen-size bed with
preferably a pillow or two.
Bouncy
(her new name is actually Dellie) is an incredibly affectionate,
willing dog who wags her tail at absolutely everyone. The
neighbours all stop and pat her when she's on her tether. She is
very good off the leash and comes when she’s called. She has
learned to fetch the newspaper from the
doorstep, and adores doing this job. Every day she gets several
good runs in
a big dog park by the river, chasing her ball, playing with other dogs
– and
swimming (she’s an avid swimmer)! The best days are when Goldie
turns up
there too. Bouncy bounds over towards her, and Goldie does her
famous crouch and pounce.
It is hard to imagine why such a lovely, friendly dog languished for
so long in different SPCA's. Thanks so much to you folks for
rescuing Bouncy and so many others like her – especially her friend
for life, Goldie.
