Pierre Charron running for Mayor |
Just days before the close of nominations, lawyer Pierre
Charron stated his intentions to run for mayor of Clarence-Rockland.
A partner in the law firm Charron, Langois, Pierre Charron practices primarily in business law and real estate
development. He was a Rockland alderman in the 1980s, and says he wants to continue the development work started.
The issue of the Highway 17/174 expansion is important to him, as is the restructuring of relations with the United
Counties of Prescott-Russell. |
|
|
There's a turnaround for a three-way race for mayor
of Clarence-Rockland. Réjean Mathurin withdrew from the race to represent Ward 3, in Clarence- Rockland,
to stand as
|
mayor. A few hours before the close of nominations, the barber by training ( now a
hair salon owner) and former Councillor of Clarence-Rockland filed the documents required for registration on Thursday.
Earlier this week, there was another contender for the Rockland Ward 3 council seat, former mayoral candidate Bernard
Payer.
Unless a surprise nominee comes up by the Friday closing date, there will be a three-way race for mayor of Clarence-
Rockland between Mr. Mathurin, businessman Marcel Guibord and lawyer
Pierre Charron. |
Clarence-Rockland delivers its own
"newspaper" offering "clear and concise
information on many subjects
concerning our municipality".
The last issue carries all the information
you will need to get you through the
upcoming elections.
