Normally there are three meetings which are
held in the first full two weeks of the month. They are the first Monday and the first Wednesday, then again on the second Monday of every month.
(Bourget location)
1. The first of three monthly council meetings on the first Monday of the month, is called the "Committee of the Whole" and takes place at the Bourget
Community Hall at 19 Lavigne Street, Bourget, starting at 7:15 p.m. Typically this is where all of the City's directors
present their monthly reports. These include: Community Services; Planning Department; Infrastructure and Buildings;
Protection to Person and Property (Fire Department); Protection to Person and Property (By-law Department); Human
Resources and Administration.
It is at this meeting that members of council should ask their questions and give the directors
any instructions (ie. give them time to prepare answers to council questions, gather further information for future
meetings, etc.)
This meeting is recorded for broadcast on local cable TVC22, usually on the following Tuesday evening. An English
interpretation should follow on the following Thursday evening. You can also view it on the TVC22 website.
We post the meeting notices and agendas on our front page on the day of the meetings. If you
plan on attending a council meeting, you can view (and copy) the agenda from the City of Clarence-Rockland web

2. The second of three monthly council meetings takes place on the first Wednesday of the month. It is held in the
council chambers behind City Hall on Laurier Street, starting at 7:15 p.m. This one is called the "Public Meeting" and generally involves administrative items
like zoning and by-law matters (changes to zoning, amendments to by-laws, site plan control, planning matters,
naming streets or parks, etc.). Any decisions to be made are reserved for the following meeting.
This meeting is not recorded for broadcast.

3. The third of three monthly council meetings is on the second Monday of every month and takes place in the council
chambers behind City Hall on Laurier Street, starting at 7:15 p.m. This one is called the "Regular Meeting" and is perhaps the more important of the
three because it deals with all of the issues discussed at the previous two meetings and is where the council votes
on the various items.
This meeting is recorded for broadcast on local cable TVC22, usually on the following Tuesday evening. An English
interpretation should follow on the following Thursday evening. You can also view it on the TVC22 website.
