Artisan Cheese Christmas Fundraiser: Here's
your chance to pick up some delicious cheeses and at the same time help out some children in a higher-needs community
in Ottawa-Vanier
But hurry... the deadline is Thursday! |
(Tuesday, November 27, 2012) An acquaintance of ours, Andrea Gayed, whose children attend elementary
school Horizon Jeunesse in Vanier, is helping the school with their Christmas fundraiser. This season they are selling specialty
artisan cheeses that come from the small regional townships of Quebec.
Supporting the school's initiative, will enable the parent's committee to host a variety of family-oriented activities
throughout the year, including a large-scale year-end picnic celebration for the children of this higher-needs
community of Ottawa-Vanier.
Even if the school is out of your area, or you may not find the cause to your interest, the products are excellent
and will make a unique Christmas gift for friends and family.
The cheeses are displayed in an online catalogue which can be viewed at: www.perfection.ca.
How to get to the catalogue:
When you visit the site, select "The Cheeses" option at the bottom right-hand of the main page. Next,
choose the "Refrigerated Products" option. Then click on the "nos Fromages" picture. From there follow the
"next page" links and you will see the pages turning to a plethora of various cheeses.
Yes, the catalogue is in French (they come from Quebec, after all), but even if you can't make out all of the text,
you can click on each picture to get an enlarged view of the individual cheeses where you can also see the English
labels. You will also note that the prices are very reasonable.
You will find classics like aged-cheddars (aged 1, 2 & 3 years), Bries, Cream Cheeses and Oka, or try some
of the rarer varieties like "Frere Jacques" or "Noyan". Gift set packages, delicious tapenades,
and unique specialty crackers are also offered at the end of the catalogue.
There is also a wide-variety of Laura Secord chocolates, Belgian chocolates (Poirot's favourite!), specialty coffees,
maple syrup products, breads and soaps available for purchase by following the "Laura Secord" icon from
the main page.
The orders are scheduled to arrive in time for Christmas, the week of December 17th, and your orders will be available
shortly thereafter.
But if you wish to place an order you will have to hurry and let Andrea know by this Thursday, November 29. She
has to place the orders in to the school by Friday, November 30. Prices include taxes. Payment can be made upon
delivery by cash or cheque.
If you are interested, you can contact Andrea Gayed at: 613-747-5038, or email her at: andrea_marilyn@hotmail.com.
Even if the school is out of your area, or you may not find the cause to your interest, the products are excellent
and will make a unique Christmas gift for friends and family. And remember, what a friend we have in cheeses! |
